Pamplemousses Botanical Garden, found in the disctrict of Pamplemousses, is one of the place you need to see when you are visiting Mauritius. It is also commonly known as Sir, Seewoosagur Botanical Garden. This is a unique place where you will see a variety of tropical plans where many of them is indigenous. 300 years ago, it was ruled by the French Govenor. After our Independance, 12th March 1968, the national botanical garden was then for Mauritius. The Pamplemousses Botanical Garden has over 650 variety of plants among which the famous Baobas, the Palmier Bouteille, the Giant Water Lilies, loads of natural medicinal plants and many more. The Pamplemousses Botanical Garden has also 85 different varieties of palm tress which was brought from different places around the world.
